The annual CardioSCOPE Reintegration Day took place on 20 October 2025 at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Pharmacy.
As the project enters its final year, the event brought together secondees who participated in secondments over the past year to share their experiences, showcase the knowledge gained during international placements, and discuss how these exchanges can foster long-term scientific partnerships.
The meeting opened with a presentation by Dr Miron Sopić, who gave an overview of the project’s main achievements and outlined the upcoming activities leading to its completion. The following sessions featured engaging presentations from team members who completed secondments at B.S.N. – Biological Sales Network S.R.L., Biosfer Teslab, and Ulster University.
Tamara Ratković shared insights from her placement at GL/BSN, while Mirjana Marčetić and Dijana Topalović discussed their research experience at Biosfer Teslab. Nemanja Popov presented his work at Ulster University, on integrating multi-omics datasets, followed by Marija Tomašević, who also completed her secondment at BSN.
After a short coffee break, presentations continued with Milica Zrnić and Katarina Nastić, Violeta Milutinović and Ana Micov, who reflected on their time at Biosfer Teslab, along with who shared her experience from the same host institution. Lada Živković and Tatjana Kundaković Vasović and Marija Sarić Matutinović concluded the session with presentations on how their secondments at BSN contributed to expanding their methodological expertise and research perspectives.
Each speaker reflected on their work with transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics data, and how these experiences have contributed to building advanced models for cardiovascular disease research.
After a short coffee break, discussions continued with presentations from returning secondees, who shared how their newly acquired skills and perspectives are being integrated into ongoing research activities at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The event concluded with a lively roundtable on how the CardioSCOPE project can serve as a foundation for career development and sustainable international collaborations. Participants emphasised the importance of maintaining the strong connections established through secondments and continuing to build bridges between academia and industry in the field of multi-omics and cardiovascular research.
