CardioSCOPE Reintegration Day at the Clinical Hospital Centre “Dr Dragiša Mišović”

On December 20, 2024, in the Department of Laboratory Diagnostics at CCDM, we organized a meeting regarding the CardioSCOPE project. After two years of collaboration with other partners on this project, our team member, PhD student, and young researcher, Aleksa Petković, delivered an excellent presentation.

His presentation provided a comprehensive insight into the CardioSCOPE project for all participants. The attendees were reminded of the project’s significance and its scientific value which focuses on the comprehensive and personalized assessment of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) through a multiomic approach and artificial intelligence (AI) strategies. In the presentation, we reviewed the project’s primary objective, which is to identify novel genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic signatures associated with ACS and its progression to major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE). Additionally, by integrating various biomarkers using machine learning (ML) and AI models, the goal is to develop multimarker models that can enhance diagnosis, risk assessment, and patient outcomes. It is important to highlight that Aleksa shared the latest research data that has been statistically processed so far.

We also discussed the progress made since the project’s launch on January 1, 2023. As of January 1st, 2025, we have successfully completed the patient follow-up phase, marking a significant milestone in the project. Also, we highlighted the importance of secondments and summer schools, which have facilitated interdisciplinary collaboration among experts from academia and industry across Europe.

In addition to the project participants (Aleksa Petković, Iva Perović Blagojević, Jovana Milijić Jovanović, Ana-Marija Mastilović i Zorica Marković), other colleagues from the Department of Biochemistry also attended the meeting, including biochemists Jelena Marjanović and Gordana Tijanić, as well as our colleague from UOC, Michail Deiktakis, who spent two months at CCDM as part of his mobility program.
