General Description: Faculty of Pharmacy is a member of Belgrade University consisting of 18 departments. Advancing international cooperation is one of the key segments in the strategy for scientific research activities of the Faculty through establishing more intensive cooperation with scientific research institutions and/or research groups abroad, and preparing and applying for joint projects within the framework of bilateral cooperation projects and the European Union Framework Program (FP8) for scientific research cooperation. So far, Faculty employees have participated in several COST actions, one CEEPUS and one ERASMUS+ project, as well as one Horizon 2020-Innovative Medicines Initiative project.

Role and Profile of key people: Dr Miron Sopić is an assistant professor at Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade. Throughout his career, he has worked on development, implementation and validation of methods for RNA and DNA isolation, real-time PCR methods for gene expression and SNPs. He is currently supervising one PhD thesis. Dr Sopić will be committed to the project by providing research facilities and supervision to the ESRs that will work in the lab for secondments.
Key Research Facilities, Infrastructure and equipment: The PhUOB laboratories used for the purpose of this project are fully equipped for the proposed research. Equipment include a 7500 Real-Time PCR instrument (Applied Biosystems), all the necessary additional equipment such as a micro plate reader, centrifuges, hoods etc. Also, participants have full access to a core facility equipped with Bio-plex instrument (Bio-Rad).
