General Description: The Institute of Cellular Biology and Pathology “Nicolae Simionescu” (ICBP) is a research centre focused on the cellular and molecular biology and genetics of atherosclerosis and diabetes. These topics are of high relevance since cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of mortality (55-65%) in developing countries, including Romania. ICBP is a research institute that belongs to the Romanian Academy.
