General Description: Biosfer Teslab, a spin-off company of the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) and the Pere Virgili Health Research Institute (IISPV) operates in the field of in vitro diagnostics to provide analytical services to study and monitor alterations in lipid metabolism and its associated cardiovascular risk.

Role and Profile of key people: Dr Nuria Amigo Grau (co-founder and CEO of Biosfer Teslab S.L.) graduated in Physics from the University of Barcelona, received MSc in Biophysics (2010) and has a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the URV. Dr Amigo Grau will be committed to the project by providing facilities and supervision to the ESRs that will work in Biosfer Teslab for secondments.
Key Research Facilities, Infrastructure and equipment: In terms of facilities, Biosfer's own offices and facilities will be used for the development of software and computer analysis (main activity of the company). The company guarantees the good performance and execution of the experimental measures since it has a contract-agreement with the Universitat Rovira i Virgili and the COS (Centre for Omic Sciences) for the use of the centre’s facilities, which include the use of the sample preparation laboratories, NMR spectrometers (controlling both the required hours of use and the required quality management system), support robots and equipment for the storage of samples under strict quality conditions.
